10 crore for Sargaalaya Arts and Crafts Academy



The State Govt. has allotted 10 crores for the completion of Arts and Crafts Academy in Sargaalaya. The Academy aims to produce products of exquisite designs of World Standards. They will also be given training to produce handicrafts that will match the global demands. Two floor building of the academy has been completed. After the completion of class rooms for training, residential facilities for the artists and artisans, conference halls to conduct seminars and workshops, the academy is expected to be working by 2018. The project was sanctioned in the year 2012.

Society bags National Habitat Award 2017


ULCCS has been selected one among five of the National Habitat Award winners. The winners were chosen by a committee chaired by former Kerala Chief town planner Prof A Kasthuri Rangan, Habitat Group Chairman G.Shankar and Binumol Tom, of the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology. The award for green architecture will be awarded by the Chief Minister on 14 May at the Anniversary Celebrations of Habitat Technology Group. The other winners of the award include W.R Reddy, R Chandradutt, Kirtee Shah and V Sunil Kumar.

SM Street beautification on the go



ULCCS has stepped into SM Street beautification. Construction of Drainage Systems, underground channels for KSEB and BSNL wires etc. are included in the project. The project worth 3.64 crores is done on behalf of District Tourism Promotion Council. The work of 50 meters, starting from Railway Station Junction will be completed within a period of 22 days.

 Society to bring back life to Karapparambu GLP School

ULCCS has taken up the infrastructure renovation and construction work of Karapparambu GLP School in Kozhikode. Due to the condemned condition of the school, the classrooms were shifted to Karapparambu High School last academic year. A master plan of three floor building of the school has been made. However considering the number of students currently studying in the school, a single floor with 4 classrooms, staff rooms, office rooms and toilets will be build in the first phase.

New Wings of Hope for Narayana Nagar Indoor Stadium




Vatakara Narayana Nagar Indoor Stadium was a project taken up by the society in the year 2014. The work of gallery on two sides, Volley ball court, Basketball court and Shuttle-badminton court of international standards have been completed. Pavilion in one of the gallery, office rooms, rest rooms, toilets have also been completed out of 6 crores from the MLA Fund. Work of galleries on the other two sides is yet to be started. The state government has now taken up the project and is included in the last budget. If things gear up Vatakara will soon hold pride of a stadium of international standards.

KSIDC’s third incubation center at UL Cyber Park


The third incubation centre of Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) was inaugurated at UL Cyber Park by Minister for Industries, A C Moideen. The centre spread across 4000 Sq. ft.is the third such venture of KSIDC after two centres in Kochi.

Neythukulangara Madathilmuku road ready for traffic


The By-pass road from Chevayoor Neythukulangara till Madathilmukku in National Highway bypass was inaugurated for traffic by Kozhikode Corporation Mayor Sri. Thottathil Raveendran. The work done by ULCCS was worth Rs. 2.5 crores.

Gender Park to be lifted to Universal Standards

The thoughts of Gender Park Calicut have gained charge with the visit of Minister for Health and Social Welfare Smt. K K Shylaja. The infrastructure work of the park coming under Department of Social Welfare is carried out by ULCCS Ltd. Library, Gandhian Museum, Exhibition Hall, Offices of Kudumbasree, Vanitha Commission, Women’s Development Corporation were inaugurated earlier. The work of the Convention Centre and Amphitheatre with the latest technologies is in the final stage of completion.

Chairman receives Arangil Sreedharan Award

ULCCS Chairman Rameshan Paleri receives Arangil Sreedharan Award. Former Chief Minister Shri. Oommen Chandy presented an award instituted in the name of the late Arangil Sreedharan, former Union Minister and veteran Socialist leader at Town Hall on Wednesday. Shri .Oommen Chandy complimented the service rendered by the Chairman for the society. He also praised the early completion of Kozhikode By-pass road work done by the society in comparison with other road works of the state started at the same time.Read the report

Pappaya harvest feast in Pasukkadavu organic farm

Pappaya harvest feast began at the organic farm in Neettukotta. There are nearly 70 pappaya plants in the farm along with other crops. The harvest feast began on Tuesday in the presence of Chairman Shri. Paleri Remeshan. The organic farm near the Neettukotta crusher unit grows plantation crops in 40 acres of land to produce organic vegetables and fruits. Areca nuts, rubber, coconut, banana are the crops grown in the farm here.

Organic farm at Kolavippalam awarded as the best in Kozhikode

Organic farm of ULCCS Ltd, in the hollow bricks unit near Kolavippalam in Kottakkal is found the best by the agricultural department. ULCCS Vice-President V.K. Anandan received the award from Kozhikode District Panchayat President Shri. Babu Parasserry. Nearly 25 varieties of vegetables and fruits are grown in the farm which is completely organic.

Vagbhatananda Edu Project- Entrance Examination on 2nd April

Vagbhatananda Edu project the education programme of ULCCS Charitable and Welfare Foundation calls out for the entrance examination for 2017 -18 batch of VEP. The examination is scheduled on 2nd April at 8 VEP centers in the city. Academically skilled students of class seven are eligible to appear for the examination. Students should get their names registered in the respective VEP centers prior to the examination.

Aster IT Global starts working in UL Cyber Park

The IT Wing of Aster International Medical Group started its operation in UL Cyber Park this week. This will be the IT delivery center of the group for the Middle- East Asian Countries.

Development activities worth 54 Crore for Sargaalaya

Govt. of Kerala has provided 54 crore for the tourism development activities Of Sargaalaya Arts and Crafts Village along with provisions for flyover& tourism development activities of Kappad. Overall development in the tourism sector and the infrastructure facilities of the area will be a great boon for the Kerala Arts and Crafts Village.

ULCCS might take up Kozhikode Railway Station Upgrade Project

Uralungal Labour Contract Co-operative Society along with INKEL Ltd, a Public Private Partnership initiative might take up Kozhikode Railway Station Upgrade Project. Kozhikode station is among the 23 stations chosen by the Railway Ministry to upgrade stations to global standards. The project includes retail development and office-space development. ULCCS has already conducted an aerial survey of project site.

Kadiyangad Bridge soon to be open for traffic

Kadiyangad Bridge in Puthyangadi –Kuttiyadi State highway will be soon open for traffic. The work started in the year 2014 replaced the old bridge more than 45 years old.

Fly-over bridges in By-pass nearing completion


The two flyovers in Ramanattukara-Pooladikunnu By-pass are nearing completion. Once the work of the fly-overs, one in Ramanattukara and the other one in Thondayad get complete, it will be a great relief to the traffic problems in the area.

KCRIP- work will be complete 8 months before deadline

ULCCS has completed 75 % of the work of Kozhikode City Road Improvement Project. The deadline of the Project is December 2017. But the work is expected to be complete by the end of April that is 8 months before the deadline.

80% of the space in UL cyber park occupied by companies

While completing one year after the official inauguration, the UL cyber Park is almost filled with companies. FullContact a prominent US company has inked pact and has taken up 1 lakh square feet for their office in UL Cyber Park. Another US based IT firm will be soon joining the park.

Centenary Celebrations of Kerala Atmavidya Sangham and 92nd anniversary Celebrations of ULCCS

Hon’ble Chief Minister of Kerala Shri Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated the Centenary Celebrations of Kerala Atmavidya Sangham and 92nd anniversary Celebrations of ULCCS. M T Vasudevan Nair received the first ULCCS Vagbhatanada award for Secularization. Former Chief Minister Shri Oommen Chandy, Ministers namely Shri G Sudhakaran, Shri T P Ramakrishnan, Shri V.S Sunil Kumar, Shri A.K Saseendran were present for the Celebrations held at ULCCS Head Office in Vatakara.

Ilanthkadavu Bridge ready for traffic

Ilanthukadavu Bridge in Pulloorampara is all set for traffic. The bridge between Thiruvambady and Kodencherry Gram Panchayats is worth Rs. 7.32 crore.

ULCCS Sponsors Hi-Tech Classrooms

ULCCS will join hands with state Govt to upgrade LP classrooms to Hi-tech classrooms. The society will sponsor one school classroom each in every constituency of the State.
